DAYTON — One person was killed Friday in what appears to be a drunken-driving wreck.
A preliminary investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office indicates that a black Ford Expedition driven by Alicia Sonji Tyner was northbound on Salem Avenue just before noon when it went left of center near the intersection with Gettysburg Avenue and hit an Oldsmobile sedan head-on.
The female passenger in the sedan died at the scene. She has been identified as Kathleen Saunders, 55. The male driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

A City lawyer, a trade union lawyer and an insurance claims manager have all been appointed to the Civil Justice Council’s working party on the implementation of Lord Justice Jackson’s civil justice reforms.
The group was set up to examine practical ways of implementing the Jackson reforms, which will overhaul how litigation can be funded. The appellate court judge was appointed by the former Master of the Rolls Sir Anthony Clarke in 2008 to conduct a year-long review of how to tackle spiralling litigation costs .

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Briana Shelton, 22, is behind bars for the murder of her 2-month-old son, according to reports.
Friday, August 19, police were dispatched to the 9800 block of Gatewood Court in regards to a child not breathing. When they got there, they found a baby lying on the floor naked and not breathing. Officers performed CPR until medics arrived. The baby was eventually taken to the hospital.
It’s unclear when the baby died. However, the Marion County Coroner determined that the cause of death was due to multiple blunt force traumatic injuries. The Coroner announced that the manner of death is a homicide.
Shelton was arrested Saturday, August 27, for Murder and A felony Neglect of a Dependant.
